Ukrainian defense intelligence claims that Russia's new drone-launched cruise missile, named S8000 Banderol, contains parts from countries including the US, Japan, and South Korea.
The missile was reportedly used in attacks on Odesa, Ukraine, and its components have raised questions about Russia's ability to circumvent sanctions imposed over its invasion of Ukraine.
The missile, with a range of 310 miles, can execute tighter turns than other Russian cruise missiles, carries a warhead of up to 150kg, and utilizes parts such as batteries, microchips, and telemetry modules from allied countries.
Ukrainian defense intelligence has called for increased diligence from governments and manufacturers in allied countries to prevent the transfer of sensitive technology to Russia.
