Salesforce Inc. is reportedly in talks to acquire data management provider Informatica Inc., with talks being revisited after an earlier failed attempt.
Informatica, which went private in 2015 for $5.3 billion and returned to public markets in 2021, saw its shares rise by over 17% on news of the acquisition talks.
Informatica's data management platform is used by over 5,000 organizations worldwide, facilitating tasks like moving records between systems and includes an AI assistant named CLAIRE.
Salesforce's potential acquisition of Informatica may be announced as early as next week, but discussions could still collapse, with other potential buyers like Cloud Software Group Inc. also expressing interest.
