Salesforce has agreed to acquire Informatica, an enterprise data management and analytics company, for approximately $8 billion.
This acquisition aims to enhance Salesforce's data management and governance capabilities by integrating Informatica's services such as data catalog, integration, governance, metadata management, and Master Data Management with the Salesforce platform.
Salesforce's previous acquisitions include Slack for $27 billion in 2021, Tableau for $15.7 billion in 2019, and MuleSoft for $6.5 billion in 2018.
The acquisition of Informatica marks Salesforce's continued expansion in the enterprise data market, with a total of approximately $60 billion spent on acquisitions over the last 10 years.
