Epic Games and Samsung have settled a lawsuit regarding the deployment of 'Auto Blocker' on Samsung Android phones, which made it difficult for users to install the Epic Games Store.
The lawsuit was settled just before Samsung's unveiling of its latest phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7.
Epic Games had accused Samsung of implementing a feature that blocked third-party app stores, hindering the installation of the Epic Games Store; Samsung has agreed to address Epic's concerns in the settlement.
The nature of the agreement remains undisclosed, but potential outcomes could include making changes to the default setting of Auto Blocker on Samsung phones or allowing approved third-party stores special access in Auto Blocker mode.
