Samsung unveiled the slimmer Galaxy Watch 8 at its Unpacked event, featuring a smaller profile making it the slimmest smartwatch the company has made at 8.6mm thick.
The Galaxy Watch 8 introduces a new test to measure antioxidants in the body using optical sensors, although its accuracy remains uncertain. Other new features include insights into vascular load, running guidance, and bedtime suggestions.
The smartwatch runs on Wear OS 6 for the first time, enhancing UI, battery life, always-on display, and integrating Google's AI assistant, Gemini. The design includes visual refreshes, a dynamic lug system, and a cushion design encasing the round screen.
The Galaxy Watch 8 series starts at $350, with a Classic version costing $500, offering brighter displays up to 3,000 nits. Preorders are open now, with general availability on July 25.
