Scared that your high-end Nvidia GPU might experience a cable-melting disaster? Asus has a new power monitoring feature to calm your fears

  • Asus has released a new version of its GPU software suite called GPU Tweak III, which includes a power monitoring feature called Power Detector+.
  • Power Detector+ warns users if any of the pins on their graphics card's power connector have too many amps flowing through them, potentially leading to a cable-melting disaster.
  • The software is currently exclusive to ROG Astral and Matrix graphics cards and monitors the amps value for the pins inside the connector plugged into the graphics card.
  • If a pin is not seated properly or the amps value exceeds 9 amps, the Power Detector+ utility will flag up a warning, allowing users to check and resolve any power cable issues.
