SEBI is considering doubling the investment cap for Mutual Funds (MFs) in Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs) to 20%.
SEBI believes that the current limits of 5% and 10% in REITs and InvITs, respectively, restrict MFs from investing in these instruments as asset classes.
Increasing the investment limit would provide MFs more investment opportunities and diversify MF schemes further.
