Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in collaboration with Market Intermediaries (MIIs) is developing a centralised Foreign Portfolio Investor (FPI) data portal.
The platform aims to consolidate various public data pertinent to FPIs, including registration processes, settlement timelines, monitoring rules, taxation, and operational guidelines from multiple intermediary websites.
Initially, the portal will contain static and publicly available data from MIIs' websites, with inputs from custodians, tax consultants, stock exchanges, clearing corporations, and depositories.
SEBI might introduce interactive functions for FPIs post-launch based on feedback, while efforts are ongoing to enhance the platform's user interface for ease of use. The initiative responds to FPIs' longstanding challenges in accessing consistent regulatory information.
