The board of IndusInd Bank suspects the involvement of certain employees in the accounting and financial reporting of the bank, indicating potential fraud against the lender.
Reports of investigations carried out by an external professional firm and internal audit department led the board to suspect the occurrence of fraud, with misreporting of Rs 173 crore in the microfinance portfolio.
SEBI is actively involved in looking into any violations and will take necessary actions if any wrongdoing is found in the IndusInd Bank case.
