The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has requested a four-month extension until February 2025 to produce hundreds of thousands of documents as part of discovery motions with crypto exchange Coinbase.
In a filing on September 18, the SEC asked a federal judge to grant the extension, stating that it needs more time to review over 133,582 unique documents.
Coinbase had previously won a motion to compel discovery, requiring the SEC to provide information on its application of securities laws for tokens.
The requested extension will give the SEC sufficient time to comply with the court's order.
