Jump Trading has been fined $123 million by the SEC for its involvement in propping up the TerraUSD stablecoin during its depeg incident.
A subsidiary of Jump Trading's crypto unit, Tai Mo Shan, purchased $20 million worth of UST to restore the peg and misled investors about UST's stability.
The settlement requires Tai Mo Shan to pay $123 million in penalties, including $86 million in disgorgement and $36 million as a civil penalty.
Terraform Labs, the creator of TerraUSD, also reached a settlement with the SEC and agreed to pay over $4 billion in fines.
