An image from the Dark Energy Camera (DECam) shows the Southern Pinwheel Galaxy, a stunning face-on galaxy known as Messier 83.The image reveals well-defined spiral arms filled with pink clouds of hydrogen gas where new stars are forming.The galaxy is located around 15 million light-years away in the constellation of Hydra and is known for its vibrant star formation.The Southern Pinwheel Galaxy has also been host to supernova explosions and contains evidence of supernova remnants.
