Google co-founder Sergey Brin donated almost $700 million worth of Alphabet stock to philanthropic causes, with the largest contribution going to his nonprofit called Catalyst4.
The transfer of over 4 million Alphabet shares was made to three philanthropic organizations, including Brin's own nonprofit focused on health and climate solutions, Catalyst4, which he launched in 2021.
Brin, who has a net worth of about $143 billion, also gave shares to his family foundation and the Michael J. Fox Foundation aiming to find a cure for Parkinson's disease.
This is not the first time Brin has made significant stock donations, as he previously gave away about $600 million worth of shares in May 2023 and made other donations exceeding $100 million in value in 2024.
