Singapore is cracking down on unlicensed Digital Token Service Providers (DTSPs) with a deadline set for 30 June 2025 for obtaining a license or ceasing services to overseas clients.
The Monetary Authority of Singapore announced that DTSPs must suspend services outside Singapore by the deadline, without any transition period.
The MAS has tightened regulations on crypto service providers following public consultations, requiring licenses for firms providing Digital Payment Token (DPT) services, particularly to overseas customers.
Crypto industry players have raised concerns about the short compliance deadline and suggested alternatives like grace periods or fast-track processes for simpler business models.
