Singapore vehicles without VEP won’t be turned back at checkpoints; fines to be issued upon exit instead

  • Fines for vehicles without VEP will have to be settled before leaving Malaysia to prevent unnecessary congestion at checkpoints.
  • Payment counters will be set up away from checkpoint exits to avoid traffic build-up and enforce the law in a more practical manner.
  • VEP requirement for Singapore-registered vehicles entering Malaysia by land will be enforced from July 1, with revenues intended for improving public transport in Johor.
