Singapore-registered vehicles without a valid VEP can enter Malaysia but will face fines upon exiting the country.
Fines for vehicles without VEP will have to be settled before leaving Malaysia to prevent unnecessary congestion at checkpoints.
Payment counters will be set up away from checkpoint exits to avoid traffic build-up and enforce the law in a more practical manner.
VEP requirement for Singapore-registered vehicles entering Malaysia by land will be enforced from July 1, with revenues intended for improving public transport in Johor.
