Drone light show company Sky Elements broke the Guinness World Record for the Longest Animation Performed by UAVs or Drones. Sky Elements flew 2,500 drones that told a Christmas story across the sky in a 30-minute display. This marked the company’s 12th Guinness World Record. Attendees watched the show from their cars, tuned in to 88.9 FM to experience the synchronized audio. The previous record was held by a Chinese drone company at 26 minutes and 26 seconds. Sky Elements shattered the record by extending drone show times to 30 minutes. Sky Elements relies on UVify drones that cost $1,500 each to perform light shows. The drones are engineered for extended battery life and high-speed capabilities.
Sky Elements’ latest record represents a shift in drone innovation towards technological advancements in flight duration and animation complexity. Extending drone show times requires advanced hardware, software and meticulous planning. The record underscores significant progress in both battery efficiency and drone reliability. This is crucial for the future of drone applications beyond entertainment, such as search and rescue and logistics.
UVify rolled out the FAB (Fleet Augmentation by UVify) rental system that makes putting on ultra-massive systems possible. The new rental network impliments a revenue-share system where customers who use extra drones share show revenue with UVify in exchange for borrowing their drones.
Sky Elements is a 12-time Guinness World Record holder, including a drone show in Texas ignited by fireworks drones and another show at IAAPA 2024 that put 2,484 drones over the Orlando Convention Center to break a record for “Largest aerial display of a bird formed by multi-rotors/drones.”
Sky Elements gained notoriety for its boundaries-pushing drone entertainment, previously setting records for the largest drone show in the U.S. and creating displays for high-profile events. It was also a finalist on “America’s Got Talent.”
