Skyways, a designer and manufacturer of autonomous cargo drones, secures $5 million to accelerate production of its V3 aircraft for the U.S. Department of Defense.
The funding from Leonid Capital Partners aims to speed up the production of the advanced V3 unmanned aircraft following a recent military contract award.
The V3 aircraft can carry up to 100 pounds of cargo, travel over 1,000 miles, and stay airborne for more than 20 hours, featuring a double-hybrid system for efficient operation.
Skyways' success reflects the growing investment in unmanned systems driven by increased defense spending, with company leaders expressing optimism for future growth and innovation in the sector.
