Camellia Theater in China, designed by Kong Xiangwei Studio, rises above a tea garden at 2,300 meters above sea level on Wuliang Mountain.
Inspired by a camellia flower, the structure features seven slender steel arcs resembling petals or streamers, and was formed on-site through collaboration with local workers.
The theater serves as a venue for cultural performances, blending seamlessly with its natural surroundings, avoiding disturbance to the tea trees while providing a stage and audience seating.
The design reflects local legend, with the structure's form occasionally appearing as a crown, integrating folklore into the architectural gesture.
