Proton is set to debut a new, smaller and more affordable electric vehicle (EV) at the Malaysia Autoshow (MAS 2025) which is speculated to be the eMas 5, resembling the Geely Star Wish.
The upcoming EV, potentially named eMas 5, is expected to feature a smaller size compared to the eMas 7, offering a range of up to 410 km based on China's CLTC standard.
The Geely Star Wish/Xingyuan, which the eMas 5 is based on, comes with options of a 30.12-kWh battery for a range of up to 310 km or a 40.16-kWh battery for a longer range of 410 km, priced between 68,800 to 97,800 yuan in China.
The Star Wish/Xingyuan offers various features including LED lighting, infotainment touchscreen, ambient lighting, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and is positioned to be Proton's most affordable EV.
