SO – IL weaves an installation of 3D knitted natural fibers at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025, called Necto, in collaboration with Dr. Mariana Popescu and TheGreenEyl.
The structure, made from natural fibers, is formed using computational design processes and comes through a tension-based system.
Necto is designed to be portable, divided into parts for transport, and assembled on site without heavy equipment. It is a study of form-finding using textile and can change shape as needed.
The installation hangs midair at the Arsenale Corderie, anchored to the ground, with a selective stiffening technique and luminous threads embedded, along with DNA-encoded coating for traceability and analysis.
