Dubai-based blockchain platform, Sophon, has launched its mainnet, featuring the first-ever Validium on ZKsync powered by Avail DA.
Sophon's farming program has $500m in total value locked, with over 120,000 node licenses purchased by more than 5,800 unique participants open for claiming.
The platform's mainnet will utilise partners, including Mirai Labs, Aethir, NooN, and split up betting firm Rivalry, which is bringing community ownership to the billion-dollar betting industry.
Sophon is using Avail's modular application development stack to maintain full decentralisation and data availability. Avail is currently developing a foundation data availability layer built on the same technology planned for Ethereum’s sharding roadmap.
The zero-knowledge protocol ZKsync is leveraged to scalability within Sophon's high-throughput applications.
Sophon aims to attract mainstream users by focusing on value, entertainment and user experience to naturally benefit from blockchain's capabilities, creating an ecosystem that enhances the user experience.
Sophon and Beam, which is launching the first gaming-focused fund and accelerator in Abu Dhabi with a target size of $150m, have partnered, with Sophon becoming a strategic partner in the accelerator.
Sophon has seeded the $40m Tactical Compute initiative, aiming at projects building at the intersection of crypto and AI.
Node holders will begin getting rewards from January 1st, with full token transferability and trading expected in Q1 2025.
The internet didn't need to explain how it worked to change the world. Crypto shouldn't either,” said Sebastien, co-founder & CEO of Sophon.
