<ul><li>The Worldcoin Foundation and Tools For Humanity have been fined 1.1 billion Korean won ($829,000) by South Korea's Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) for privacy violations.</li><li>The fine comes after an investigation initiated in February over concerns of Worldcoin collecting sensitive biometric information in exchange for cryptocurrency.</li><li>Despite the fine, the value of Worldcoin's token (WLD) has increased by 35% during the week of the announcement.</li><li>Besides the fine, Worldcoin has been ordered by PIPC to make improvements and follow guidelines for better protection of user information.</li></ul>
