Booz Allen has collaborated with Meta to deploy their open source AI model, Llama, aboard the International Space Station (ISS) National Laboratory for scientific research.
Llama offers flexibility and can be deployed on machines without internet access, making it suitable for the ISS environment without internet connectivity.
The Space Llama tech stack combines Booz Allen's A2E2, HPE's Spaceborne Computer-2, NVIDIA accelerated computing, and Meta's Llama vision AI capabilities.
Space Llama will enable astronauts to use generative and multimodal AI for tasks such as retrieving information from technical reference documents and instructions.
