Axiom Space's Ax-4 mission, focusing on diabetes research in microgravity, is set to launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket to the International Space Station (ISS).
Scheduled for May 29, the Ax-4 mission will carry a diverse crew and a record-breaking scientific payload, including crew members from India, the European Space Agency, and Hungary.
The mission will conduct nearly 60 science investigations from 31 countries during its two-week stay at the ISS, with a key focus on diabetes management in microgravity through the 'Suite Ride' initiative.
The research aims to assess the performance of Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) and insulin stability in space, potentially paving the way for astronauts with diabetes to participate in spaceflight safely and improve diabetes care on Earth.
