Starbucks is planning to lay off 1,100 corporate employees worldwide as part of a restructuring to improve efficiency.
The layoffs will be announced by mid-day Tuesday, 25 February, 2025 and will affect corporate support employees, but not baristas or roasting and warehouse staff.
The move is aimed at reducing complexity, increasing accountability, and improving integration within the company's operations.
The company's new chairman and CEO, Brian Niccol, has been working on streamlining operations and improving service times in response to declining sales and increased competition.
