The US Federal Communication Commission (FCC) has granted Starlink a US commercial license for Direct-to-Cell (Starlink Cellular) operations.
Starlink, a subsidiary of SpaceX, received the license to provide supplemental coverage from space and operate on certain frequency bands for direct-to-cellular operations.
Starlink Cellular has already provided valuable services in areas affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, with over 270,000 mobile phones connected to the service.
Other cellular providers are not included in Starlink's reported numbers yet.
