Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced the setting up of a dedicated Startup India desk within the ministry to serve as a helpline for entrepreneurs accessible through a toll-free number.
The second Fund of Funds for Startups with a corpus of Rs 10,000 crore has been approved, with Rs 2,000 crore to be disbursed to SIDBI as the first installment.
The fund will focus on seed funding for small startups and deep-tech innovation startups in domains such as AI, robotics, quantum computing, and biotech.
Piyush Goyal urged SIDBI to establish support centers in every state to provide infrastructure and facilities for early-stage entrepreneurs.
