Steel Hunters, a mech shooter game from the creators of World of Tanks, is shutting down after just three months of launch due to lack of audience engagement.
The game, which launched in early access on Steam, failed to maintain player interest and peaked at 4,479 concurrent players with a 'mixed' user review rating.
Wargaming, the developer, announced plans to sunset Steel Hunters, citing unsustainable development despite player passion and support.
The closure of Steel Hunters adds to the list of live service games facing challenges, with Sony's Concord and Microsoft's canceled MMORPG being recent examples.
