Stellantis, the parent company of brands such as Jeep, Dodge, and Ram, is taking measures in response to new tariffs imposed by the Trump administration.
The company will impose temporary layoffs affecting nearly 1,000 U.S.-based workers at five plants in Michigan and Indiana.
Additionally, production will be paused at some plants in Canada and Mexico as a result of the 25% tariffs on imported cars and car parts.
Stellantis is evaluating the impact of the tariffs, but has decided to take immediate actions to navigate the challenging environment and remain competitive.
