Stellantis, the automaker, has reversed its decision to lay off around 1,100 employees at the Toledo South Assembly Plant in Ohio.
The layoffs were initially planned to cut down excess dealer inventory and align production with sales.
Due to a reassessment of strategy in North America, Stellantis extended the WARN notice, and employees will not be placed on indefinite layoff on Jan. 5, 2025.
The delay in layoffs may become permanent, and the company is reconsidering offshore UAW jobs with changes in leadership.
