US Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming believes that a strategic Bitcoin reserve could be established in the first 100 days of the incoming Trump administration.
Lummis introduced the Bitcoin Act, proposing the establishment of decentralized storage facilities to securely hold Bitcoin reserves.
The bill suggests the US Treasury to purchase 200,000 BTC annually over five years, totaling one million BTC, and to consolidate all BTC currently held by the US government into the new reserve.
The proposal has generated considerable buzz and significantly impacted the market, with BTC price reaching an unprecedented high of $89,940.
