Sui and Solana are both layer 1 chains, but Sui has a different technical setup compared to Solana.
Sui has its programming language, Move, which gives it an object-centric nature, meaning that you don’t need smart contracts to track ownership.
Sui’s architecture includes parallel transaction execution, which allows it to process many transactions at the same time, making it faster compared to linear standards like Solana.
Sui’s Mysticeti upgrade has reduced transaction latency to 390 milliseconds, giving it a theoretical 297,000 TPS.
Solana has an established ecosystem with around 2000 coins and more projects. In contrast, Sui, as the newer kid on the block, has almost 90 projects in its ecosystem.
Solana has a thriving DeFi and meme coins ecosystem, while Sui's DeFi ecosystem is small but has grown rapidly.
The current $SUI price is $1.80 with a market cap of $4.5 billion, while $SOL has an unlimited supply with a market cap of $70.9 billion.
Although Sui won’t be dethroning Solana during this bull run, it may well be the Solana during the 2021 bull run.
Nonetheless, Sui has the potential to enter the top 20 measured by market cap and even the top 10.
Sui is young and has much potential to grow, but it still needs to prove itself.
