<ul><li>Sunil Kakkar, an employee at Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL), will become the first Indian staff member to be nominated as a whole-time director on the company's board.</li><li>Kakkar's nomination was made by Suzuki Motor Corporation, the majority shareholder of MSIL. He will be designated as director of corporate planning.</li><li>Sunil Kakkar will be the sixth Indian representative on the board, which currently consists of four Indian independent directors, six Japanese directors, and the Chairman.</li><li>Kakkar, who has been with MSIL for over 34 years, has played a significant role in localizing supply chains and forming joint ventures for technological advancements.</li></ul>
