NASA astronauts Sunita Williams, Butch Wilmore, Nick Hague, and Russia’s cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov returned to Earth after 9 months in space on March 19.
ISRO extended a welcome to Sunita Williams and hailed her safe return, expressing interest in utilizing her expertise for future missions.
The mission was extended due to propulsion issues with Boeing's Starliner spacecraft. It logged 4,576 Earth orbits and 195 million kilometers traveled.
The astronauts will undergo a 45-day rehabilitation program in Houston to readjust to Earth's gravity and deal with health challenges.
