Nintendo announced during the Switch 2 Direct that GameCube games will be playable on the upcoming hybrid console with a Switch Online membership.
The list of GameCube titles available at launch includes The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Soul Caliber 2, and F-Zero GX. GameCube games on Switch 2 will support online play, local split-screen, and the new GameChat feature.
Nintendo promises to bring more GameCube titles to Nintendo Switch Online in the future. They teased titles like Super Mario Sunshine, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Super Mario Strikers, Chi-Bi Robo, Luigi’s Mansion, and Pokémon Colosseum during the Direct.
A new GameCube controller, including a C Button, will be available for Switch Online subscribers and will be released alongside the Switch 2 on June 5.
