Tata Steel has launched India's first all-women shift at its Noamundi Iron Mine in Jharkhand.
Starting from December 16, 2024, women employees will independently manage all mining operations during their shift.
This initiative highlights Tata Steel's commitment to diversity and inclusion, empowering women in traditionally male-dominated roles.
The historic shift was inaugurated by Shyam Sundar Prasad, deputy director general of mines safety, acknowledging the government's support in allowing women to work across all shifts in mines.
