Haimantika Mitra, a Developer Advocate, recently left her "dream company," Microsoft, after just a year. Mitra, who faced over 30 rejections before landing the job, initially fell in love with Microsoft during her interactions with the community amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, she resigned because the role of support engineer, for which she was hired, wasn't aligned with her long-term goals. Mitra explained that Microsoft's policies required her to stay in that role for a few years before considering other positions, hindering her desire for a faster career pace.
Despite the departure, she expressed openness to returning to Microsoft in the future if the right opportunity arises.
