Cooper Taylor, a 17-year-old junior at Greenwich Country Day School, gained recognition for designing a cost-efficient modular drone with increased flight time using VTOL technology.
His drone design features a single motor that can transition between fixed-wing and rotor flight, reducing weight, increasing flight time, and cutting production costs.
After multiple failed prototypes, Cooper successfully flew his sixth version with projected flight times of up to 105 minutes at 45 mph, leading to winning awards and scholarships from various science fairs.
Cooper, not content with past achievements, continues to refine his drone design, showcasing a passion for innovation and engineering at a young age.
