Telangana government has increased daily working hours for commercial establishments from eight to ten through a government order issued on 5 July, 2025.
The move aims to provide operational flexibility to banks, IT firms, insurance companies, and other service-sector businesses.
The new guidelines under the Telangana Shops and Establishments Act, 1988, maintain a weekly work limit of 48 hours with overtime pay for additional hours.
Worker safeguards include a mandatory 30-minute break after six hours of work and a maximum 12-hour workday, excluding rest periods.
