Telecom operators in India, including Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio, have introduced new voice and SMS only plans for prepaid users.
The move comes after the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India mandated separate plans for customers who do not require data.
Airtel's new Rs 499 plan offers unlimited voice calls and 900 SMSes with 84 days validity. They also have a Rs 1,959 plan with unlimited voice calls, 3,600 SMSes, and 365 days validity.
Jio has unveiled the Rs 458 plan with unlimited voice calls and 1,000 SMSes for 84 days, and the Rs 1,958 plan with unlimited voice calls and 3,600 SMSes for 365 days.
