Chinese tech giant Tencent is investing £1bn in a new gaming subsidiary spin-off of Ubisoft, helping the company become more agile.The spin-off will focus on the development of Ubisoft's popular games, such as Assassin's Creed and Far Cry.Tencent will hold about one-quarter of the new company, becoming Ubisoft's second-largest shareholder.The investment will provide a cash infusion to Ubisoft, strengthening its balance sheet and enhancing game quality and features.
