Heron Power, a startup founded by former Tesla executive Drew Baglino, has raised $38 million in a Series A funding round.
The company is working on solid-state transformers that are more compact and responsive compared to traditional analog models, which play a crucial role in the electrical grid by managing voltage levels.
Heron Power specializes in medium-voltage transformers with various applications, from large substations to residential areas.
The company plans to begin installations in early 2027 and has secured investments from several notable entities including Capricorn Investment Group, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, and Tesla co-founder JB Straubel.
