Recent rumors suggest that Tesla China is developing a more affordable variant of the popular Model Y crossover, codenamed as "E80".
The rumored Model Y "E80" is expected to have a 50-55 kWh battery and may be launched in the second half of 2025 or in 2026.
Price speculations vary, with some sources suggesting a range of 150,000-170,000 yuan ($20,500-$23,300) and others mentioning 190,000–210,000 yuan ($26,000–$28,800).
The rumored features of the "E80" include smaller wheels, single-layer windows, no rear display, half the number of speakers, fabric seats with no heating or ventilation, a manual trunk, and a metal roof.
