Canadian authorities have cleared Tesla of any fraud following an investigation into a large number of EV rebate claims submitted earlier this year.
Transport Canada found that the claims, totaling 8,653 for the Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles program, represented vehicles delivered before the submission deadline.
Initially valued at $43 million, the claims came under scrutiny in March, leading to a freeze in rebate payments until the investigation was completed.
Despite concerns raised by Canadian Automobile Dealers Association, Transport Minister Chrystia Freeland accepted the investigation results, though questions remain about how Tesla submitted the claims just before the deadline.
