Tesla has introduced a new safety feature with the latest Model Y, aiming to save lives and enhance other safety measures.
The in-cabin radar system developed by Tesla can detect humans inside the vehicle, particularly focusing on instances where regular cameras might not capture individuals, such as children left in cars.
The new Model Y comes equipped with this in-cabin radar system, located above the rearview mirror and behind the ceiling gear shifter buttons.
The radar system supports various safety features like driver detection, seat occupancy, Occupant Classification System (OCS), and now includes the capability to engage auto parking brake, as mentioned in the Model Y Owner’s Manual released by Tesla.
