Tesla's sales in the UK dropped significantly last month, while Chinese brands Jaecoo and Omoda saw successful growth, selling more vehicles than Tesla.
Tesla sold only 512 cars in the UK in April, whereas Jaecoo sold 1,053 and Omoda sold 910 vehicles, despite being lesser-known Chinese brands that entered the UK market just last year.
The decline in Tesla's sales in Europe can be attributed to backlash against Elon Musk's politics, as well as increased competition from both traditional automakers like Volkswagen and Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers.
To address the declining sales, Tesla has introduced incentives like free supercharging for certain Model Y models in the UK market in an attempt to regain momentum.
