<ul><li>Renewables provider Equis Australia has closed a $260 million deal for a Tesla Megapack project in Tamworth, New South Wales.</li><li>The project, known as the 'Calala' Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), will consist of 138 two-hour Megapack units and will have a capacity to supply electricity for up to 115,000 homes during peak usage.</li><li>The Calala project is expected to be fully operational by 2027, with construction taking place in two phases, bringing a total of 250MW capacity online.</li><li>The financial close includes a non-recourse debt financing package and a Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) to contribute $2 million to the Tamworth Regional Council over time.</li></ul>
