Tesla has rolled out a new safety feature called 'Child Left Alone Detection' that aims to prevent children from being left unattended in cars.
The feature is included in Software Update 2025.14.12 and uses ultrawave sensors to detect the presence of unattended children in Tesla vehicles.
When an unattended child is detected, the vehicle will flash exterior lights, play an alert tone, and send a notification to the Tesla app until the driver returns to the car.
Initially, the feature is being rolled out to mid-2023 and later Model 3 vehicles in Europe, with other models and regions to receive the update in the future.
