US Foods, the second-largest foodservice distributor in the United States, has been spotted with the Tesla Semi, joining other major food industry entities utilizing the electric truck.
The sighting of the Tesla Semi was near the Gigafactory Nevada plant in Reno, hinting at a possible training run with a Tesla driver/instructor.
With an increasing number of electric semitrucks entering the market, companies like US Foods are focusing on environmentally friendly fleet solutions, aligning with Tesla's clean air vehicle program.
Tesla's Vice President of Vehicle Engineering mentioned that high-volume production builds for the Tesla Semi are expected to start late in 2025, with companies like PepsiCo, Walmart, and Sysco already planning or using the Semi for logistics and transportation.
