Tesla shares rose on Wednesday after a report suggesting Elon Musk could leave his post at the Department of Government Efficiency.
The report, later deemed 'garbage' by the White House, stated that Musk would return his focus to Tesla amid recent struggles.
Tesla's stock has dropped over 5% in the past month and more than 31% year to date due to various factors, including Musk's role in the White House.
Separately, New York City Comptroller urged the city to sue Tesla for Musk's alleged material misstatements and his promotion of policies harmful to Tesla's business.
